Vacuum Condensation Technology

Alfacond PHE

Engineered specifically for vacuum condensation and steam duties. A compact, thermal alternative to conventional shell and tube condensers.

Steam Condensation Performance

Alfacond is a plate condenser designed for vacuum condensation. Featuring large vapour inlets and an asymmetrical plate pattern, it reduces pressure drops for steam and vapour streams while maintaining stable cooling water flow rates.

Employed in evaporation systems, turbine exhaust systems, and chemical condensation loops, Alfacond requires a smaller physical footprint than conventional condensers and achieves high heat transfer coefficients.

Technical Characteristics

Large Inlet Area

Designed to manage high velocity steam and vapour with low pressure drop in the inlet duct.

Condensate Subcooling

Advanced channel geometry allows for integrated subcooling of the condensate to improve efficiency.

Non Condensable Removal

Flow channels are configured to remove non condensable gases, maintaining vacuum conditions.

Design Features

  • Asymmetrical plate gaps (wide channels for vapour, narrow channels for cooling water)
  • Integrated condensate subcooling channel layout
  • Highly resistant to thermal fatigue and cycling
  • Modular plate pack design supports thermal duty expansion
  • Clip on gaskets for direct maintenance and service access

Typical Applications

The preferred choice for evaporation and vacuum systems:

  • Overhead vapour condensation in distillation columns
  • Condensers for multi effect evaporation plants
  • Turbine exhaust steam condensation
  • Steam condensation in industrial stripping processes
